THE BLACK AND WHITE COOKIE BOARD #2
The Black and White Cookie Board is a large charcuterie board inspired by the famous black and white cookies. This beautiful board is made from a combination of hard maple and black walnut, two extremely popular cutting board woods known for their beautiful looks and fantastic utilitarian qualities. This board would feel as at home on a shelf as decor as it would piled high with meats and cheeses.
Care Instructions:
This board is finished with pure mineral oil, with a topcoat of a beeswax and mineral oil mixture. The board can be maintained with either of these options whenever necessary, but should be oiled whenever the board feels dry, loses its luster or its water repellency.
To maintain, apply oil or oil/beeswax, let sit from five minutes to a few hours, and then buff off. It is not possible to oil the board too much, the more it is oiled the longer it will last.
To clean the board, scrub with dish soap and warm water. Do not put the board in the dishwasher. It is recommended to wash both sides of the board at the same time so both sides experience the same level of moisture.
To store the board, store it standing on edge or hanging. Do not store the board flat on a surface. You want the board to be able to experience even flow of air around all surfaces. Avoid locations with large temperature swings or high levels of moisture.
